The capital will help us increase the speed at which we roll out new products to address our merchants increasingly complex needs.&#8221;<\/em> <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The platform has been fortunate enough to secure sign-ups from large companies such as the money exchange app TransferWise and the food delivery app Deliveroo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">* * *<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">After its 74% plunge last year, Bitcoin has surged more than 50% in 2019 as new institutions start embracing tokens. It recently climbed to a new high for the year, fast-approaching the $6,000 (USD) level. &nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2019-05-07\/bitcoin-bounds-toward-6-000-as-more-institutions-embrace-tokens\" target=\"_blank\">Bloomberg reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.goandgrow.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bitcoin-1024x703.png\" alt=\"Bitcoin\" class=\"wp-image-22746\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cBitcoin is testing new near-term highs because the overall institutional involvement is becoming stronger and stronger,\u201d Jehan Chu, managing partner at Kenetic Capital, said by phone from Hong Kong. \u201cWe\u2019re just seeing institution after institution lining up to the thesis of digital currency, and Bitcoin is the standard bearer.\u201d<\/em> <\/p><p><em>Fidelity Investments, which began a custody service to store Bitcoin earlier this year, plans to buy and sell it for institutional customers within a few weeks, according to a person familiar with the matter.<\/em> <\/p><p><em>\u201cFidelity alone doesn\u2019t move the entire needle, but Fidelity with E*Trade and Ameritrade and Robin Hood and a whole host,\u201d said Chu, whose firm is a blockchain investment and advisory company. \u201cYou\u2019re seeing a critical mass of these types of asset managers and brokers providing retail exposure and retail access to crypto.\u201d<\/em> <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">* * *<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">While a second Brexit referendum is being debated in Britain, major global and British banks are steering clear of taking a stance. Most institutions have shifted priorities toward \u201cfuture-proofing\u201d their business by moving into new markets, and are resigned to continue doing so.
