UK was the only European country surveyed but we believe that majority of the results are universal to Europe and many other parts of the world.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2425 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.goandgrow.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/20160108_bondora_pilt_629x438.jpg\" alt=\"financial technology - Bondora\" width=\"629\" height=\"438\" \/><\/p>\n<p>EY surveyed more than <strong>10,000 digitally active people<\/strong> in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States to better understand the overall rate of FinTech adoption.<\/p>\n<p>The survey showed that <strong>15.5%<\/strong> of digitally active consumers have used at least two FinTech products within the last six months. According to EY: \u201eAs awareness of the available products and services increases, adoption rates could double within the year.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Here is our summary of the key findings from the survey:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Hong Kong has the highest rate of Financial technology use of all markets surveyed \u2013 29.1%<br \/>\n\u2022 Early FinTech adopters tend to be <strong>younger, higher-income<\/strong> customers, with adoption concentrated in <strong>high-development urban areas<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Out of major urban areas New York has the highest rate of Financial technology use \u2013 33,1%<br \/>\n\u2022 Most used FinTech services are Money transfer\/Payments (17,6%), <strong>Saving\/Investments (16,7%)<\/strong>, Insurance (7,7%), <strong>Borrowing (5,6%)<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 The&nbsp;<strong>ease in setting up an account<\/strong> was overwhelmingly cited as the top reason for using Financial technology.<br \/>\n\u2022 A lack of awareness is the main barrier to FinTech\u2019s adoption \u2013 the majority of non-FinTech users claim they don\u2019t know such products exist.
