Cem\u2019s journey at Bondora:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s been over a year since I joined Bondora, and it\u2019s been an amazing journey so far! Looking back, our collective achievement in expanding to new markets and moving towards a modern tech stack has been truly inspiring \ud83d\udcc8<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cem\u2019s typical workday<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I usually prefer coming to the office to catch up with colleagues. My day starts with a routine check of our monitoring tools to ensure there are no fires to put out. After this, I spend some time in the kitchen with a hot coffee and chatting with colleagues. We\u2019ve been focusing on our engineering roadmap recently, which is something I enjoy tackling \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s the most rewarding part of your job?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tackling complex technical challenges and seeing the positive impact on our system\u2019s efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And what makes being a developer at Bondora awesome?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The company is committed to embracing a modern tech stack, which is very motivating for engineers. Working in an environment with easy-to-approach and helpful people is a huge plus \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did you find your way into the world of programming? What has the experience been like so far?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since high school, I\u2019ve been intrigued by the ability to create something out of nothing. It\u2019s been quite a journey so far, and I\u2019m still enjoying every moment!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What programming language is your favorite and why?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019d go with C# since it\u2019s the language I\u2019ve used the most and feel most comfortable using.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your best investment advice?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Investing is a device that transfers money from the impatient to the patient. I\u2019m not an expert, but I\u2019d say focusing on long-term investments in the stock market could be beneficial \ud83d\udcbc<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are some of your hobbies? What do you like to do in your free time?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I like playing and studying chess \u265f\ufe0f Additionally, I also enjoy watching indie movies and gaming. I\u2019ve also been learning Estonian, which can be considered a hobby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are your favorite games to play?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve spent quite some time on Baldur\u2019s Gate 3 since its release, and it\u2019s become one of my all-time favorites! I primarily enjoy playing RPG games, as I\u2019m fascinated by the uniqueness of their lore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which game have you clocked the most hours with on Steam?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve invested well over 3,000 hours in the Football Manager series over the years \ud83c\udfae<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s your favorite kind of music (to listen to while programming)?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I enjoy switching between different genres throughout the day since it keeps me engaged and energized. I like tuning into setlists from Cercle, then dive into death metal playlists \ud83e\udd18<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you have any pets?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My family in Istanbul currently has six cats, and I miss them dearly. We adopted Petit first, who is six years old now. He was later joined by Crunchy \ud83d\udc31 They recently adopted four little fellas \u2013 hi, the more, the merrier! Meet Bihter, Behlul, Firdevs and Adnan!<\/p>\n\n\n

I\u2019ll go with \u2018Firefly\u2019, one of my all-time favorite sci-fi series! \u2018Stuff You Missed In History Class\u2019<\/a> is one of the podcasts I follow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bacon: yay or nay? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yay \ud83e\udd53<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What superpower would you like to have and why?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019d go with teleportation. I could attend any major sports event or music festival around the globe instantly. Imagine experiencing the World Cup, Glastonbury, and Primavera as a regular weekend plan!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s something that you want to do but scares you?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Wingsuit flying!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
